He Calls Me

Standing Tall in the promises of God

There it was.

Unassuming.

Full of confidence as it had the audacity to brighten up the dark earth.

Whilst out walking recently with my family we all stopped in our tracks as we suddenly spotted it. It changed the whole landscape. Caught us off-guard.

A lone daffodil daring to flower before January was even out.

In the bleakness of the brown earth it stood proud.

“That’s far too early” I pondered aloud.

A gentle reminder

Then God spoke.

A flower doesn’t bud too soon. A daffodil doesn’t subscribe to a pre-planned schedule. It blooms when it is ready. When everything comes together. All in perfect timing. The synthesis of spring is not dependent on human conditions. The colour will come when it is ready.

And when it does we will marvel. We will celebrate. We will applaud the beauty of it all.

Remember this though, the same is true for you lovely one.

Colour is Coming

You need not push or force the flowering. Do not be tempted to burst through the cold, wet soil prematurely. Trust that it is serving a purpose. Fuelling the future as it feeds the flower.

Your beauty will come. The colour will be restored.

Trust the process. Trust the Gardener. Trust the One who created it all. He will ensure that it works in symbiotic unity. His promises will come to pass and you will stand tall.

Let Him break the earth. He will call you out, in time, to display your unique colour to all around you.
